PLACENTIA, November 4, 2026. The first unofficial results for Placentia’s City Council District 2 show Matt Waugh with 1,321 votes (43.63%), followed by Julie Suchard with 1,048 (34.61%) and Santosh Sabnis with 659 (21.76%). The gap between the top two candidates is 273 votes.

District 4’s separate race

In City Council District 4, Chad Wanke is ahead with 1,963 votes (63.84%) compared with James Burandt’s 1,112 (36.16%). The ballot also included a City Clerk election: Robert S. “Bob” McKinnell is the only listed candidate, with 10,581 votes in the reported tally.

How residents can use the results

The council district results should be read independently. Each district elects one representative, while the City Clerk contest appears as a separate office. A district-to-district comparison of raw votes is not meaningful without considering who was eligible to participate in each contest.

The county is continuing the canvass, so candidates’ positions may change. Orange County’s reporting schedule calls for a November 4 update at 5 p.m., with further weekday reports. No official winner is being declared here.
